Timothy Larson drew my attention to this story in WorldNetDaily: Suspect detained over ‘extremist’ bumper sticker: ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ puts driver in ‘watch’ category in DHS report.
The story might be apocryphal. The article itself points out that the report couldn’t be confirmed and police in the local Louisiana town where it supposedly happened deny it. In fact, the story reads more like an advertisement for Gadsden bumperstickers than a news report. Which is cool with me. Get a bumpersticker. Be an extremist.
Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice.
Thanks for pointing out the story, Tim.

Hi, good post. I have been wondering about this issue,so thanks for posting.
If this story is accurate its scary to say the least. However, I highly doubt someone is going to stop you for sporting a Gadsden flag: they’d have to ticket half the Armed Forces in uniform.
This got me to the site. The rattlesnake is the perfect symbol of the American fighting spirit against government encroachment on our freedoms.
